A Brief Note on Stamped Concrete

Stamped concrete is a common technique used for decorative concrete. It involves impressing a pattern and/or texture into freshly laid concrete. Therefore, it requires that new concrete is poured.

If you have an existing concrete pad that you want to add a stamped pattern or texture to, you may add a layer of concrete or overlay mixture.

Concrete is preferable as it is one of the world's most durable materials. However, concrete will require a minimum of two to three inches height increase. There is another product available called an overlay mix. It can be applied as little as few inches thick. But, it does have a shorter life-span than does concrete.

Advantages of Stamped Concrete Overlay:-

It is known for it’s durability and longevity. Because it is so durable, it can also be described as an environmentally-friendly option and it would not need to be replaced in the near future. This means that more materials won't need to be manufactured and less materials will end up in landfills.

Also, it is easy to maintain. It’s cleaning is as easy as rinsing or sweeping. You will need to redo or recoat the surface with sealer. This is an easy spray or roll on process.

It is quite aesthetically pleasing and it is completely customizable with a wide variety of color combinations and patterns. It is a low costing option in the long run due to it’s beautiful finish and durability.
You may get in touch with concrete contractors to avail such coatings. They will use a variety of coloring techniques to achieve your look.
